Socializing a site is never pretty. Click on "The Loop" tab, and you'll see the site lookin' a little snarfy, as we all learn (together) how to best set up, configure and USE JomSocial. Come help out! Login (or register), create a group, start connecting to over 250 local JoomlaChicagoans! Then, give us some feedback, so we can blend the social element right into the site, and make it rock. Thanks! -John

Watch over the summer for many upgrades to the JoomlaChicago Group website. Led by Phil DeKoker, we've got some very capable folks helping take the site to the next level, including Robert Nowack, Kendall Cabe, Nick Martinelli and Mike Carson. If you'd like to get involved in helping with the changes, let us know at an upcoming meeting, and we'll put ya to work!
Coming improvements include conversion to 100% Joomla! 1.5; creation of a new social community (using JomSocial); upgrades of our current primary extensions (Event Registration Pro, Forum Software, and more). The first phase of changes (conversion) will take place on or by July 1st, converting to 1.5. We'll be integrating JomSocial in July, and new designs should be completed in August (maybe sooner). Thank you again to all the folks helping lend a hand.
If you'd like to volunteer to help design, code or write, please let us know! |
