Hey folks,
I sure hope you like what you see so far in the first 120 days of JoomlaChicago's existence. I know, my "never satisfied" type-A personality doesn't allow me to sit back and enjoy anything - hell, my Barco-lounger never stays in the reclined position longer than three minutes. I cut all the fringe off my rugs at home, just like I mess with CSS here on this site, without stopping for dinner (unless it's dessert first).
The OCD Gods have cursed me with this wonderful project - and the darn thing's working. Why? Honestly, because of all YOU!
I'll just bullet-point some high-level accomplishments so far:
- A Core Team of high-test, principled leaders is now in place to serve you
- Our focus on education and networking is delivering quality programs
- We meet in an inspiring meeting place donated, overlooking the Loop
- We established a standing meeting day and time, with a consistent 2-hour meeting agenda
- With little promotion during our ramp-up, over 70 Members have signed up
- An average of 22 Members attend our Live Meetings
- We created a stellar website was created by a top-notch Admin Team, which continues to grow
- JoomlaDay Chicago is now coming to life, with dozens of hours of planning a top-shelf event
- We're already at an elite level among the Chicago Technology community, participating in a vitally important project for the region (news of this coming soon)
Those are some of the highlights I wanted to point out to you - especially our Core Team of volunteers who have stepped up to really make this group a very worthwhile endeavor to our members. I look forward to the group continuing to make measurable progress this year, offering fantastic opportunities to help you succeed!
Now that we've gotten through the first critical 120 days, it's time to spread the word, and let others know what we're up to! After a first meeting a few months back at which I had no idea whether anyone would show up, let alone volunteer, I think we've got something pretty darn good to offer. Guess it's time to advertise!
