Business Insurance 5 Months, 1 Week ago
WebTrax Studio is looking for advice from more experienced Joomla entrepreneurs on the subject of business insurance. We started out doing mostly non-profit and education work, but have recently moved into more commercial work where the possibility of liability and getting sued is much greater.

What experience have people had with business insurance? We're already in the process of qualifying as an LLC.

Thanks,

Bob S.

hey Bob,
Incorporating as an LLC won't necessarily protect you but the insurance does. I would suggest you get a standard liability policy that covers up to 1 million bucks. I believe that the policy I was quoted a few months back was about $600-$700 per year. I would just check around on the rates, but I would definitely also check the coverages too. Compare apples to apples. The costs are NOT the most important thing when choosing your insurance, it's the coverage that will ultimately save your behind when you need it.

Hello Mike: Good advice. Our accountant recommended an insurance agent who handles that sort of thing so we're going to set up a meeting and see how it goes. We'll report back to the group sometime in the summer about how it's going. It may help others work this out. We had one bad...even scary client who was our biggest motivation.
