The other day, I posted a list of America's Brainiest Cities with links to their Joomla groups.

Somehow Chicago didn't make it onto that list - ahem! - and that led me to wonder how many cities on the list of America's biggest cities have Joomla groups. My conclusion (see list below) is: about a third of America's biggest cities have active Joomla groups, either their own or in an adjacent city. Moreover, many of the rest have listings on Craigslist or other places looking for people to start a group.

Most interesting of all: in every city I searched, even if they that don't already have a Joomla group per se, all of them either have one or more developers emphasizing Joomla expertise, and/or a bunch of websites that already exist in that city on the Joomla platform.

PS - The general sense I got from this list -- though not rigorously calculated -- is that the Midwest wins the prize for the highest frequency of Joomla groups!
