Hello from a new member (also new to Joomla!) 5 Months, 1 Week ago
Hi, My name is Dave, I run a non-profit that is based in Western Springs, IL and I am new to Joomla!.

We are currently using Movable Type 4.1 to run our website, but I am looking for something more robust, and I think the Joomla! is what I have been looking for. I have installed test installation on my computer and just finished reading Building Websites with Joomla! 1.5 by Hahen Graf, which I have found easy to read and understand.

I was so excited to find an active Chicago Joomla! community, and only wish I would have known about the EXPO. I guess I can look forward to next year.

Anyway, thanks for making this great resource available.

Flippin' COOL non-profit! Glad to have you on-board! There's another npo here focused on adventure travel you could hook up with, called Power Adventures. www.PowerAdventures.com

I did their site in Joomla quite a while back (it's been down for a while, while they went through a transition). Might be good folks to know though.

Cheers!
