Hello 6 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Hello everyone for Southern Illinois (for those that forget that there is more to the state then just Chicago ),

Anyways I currently am heading up a project here at SIUC to convert a few departmental websites over to Joomla. I have been using Joomla for the past 2 years or so for personal use and as side jobs here and there.

I look forward to the upcoming Expo and hope to gain more insight into the inner workings of Joomla and what it is capable of.

Damn - interesting. Love to hear more about how SIU is doing the conversion. Great project! Are they using Joomla state-wide?

Welcome!

Re:Hello 6 Months, 2 Weeks ago
SIUC does not have a uniform web presence at this time, or has ever in my experience here (going on 7 years as staff/student). I personally work at the Helpdesk and maintain IT's websites and presented Joomla as an option for them to use as an easier way to make at least IT more uniform.

While this is a great idea, not many got behind me on this so for now it will be just two of the departments under IT as a main that will be switched over to Joomla. I do know a few other departments use Joomla for their websites as well, but have not seemed to take full advantage of the features.

Hopefully with this conversion more of IT will want to make the switch as well, wait is this an Apple pitch? I hope to have the two departments switched over by the begging of the Fall 08 semester.

Oh and to answer the statewide question, that would be a no. That would be a miracle to see something like that place.
