Hello,

I will be staying at the Chicago O'Hare Crowne Plaza Hotel, since I get some very good discount. I searched on google maps and can see that the renaissance is not that far from the O'Hare Crowne Plaza Hotel.

Is my first time around that area so got a couple questions:

- Is it too much of a walk from the O'hare Crowne Plaza Hotel to the renaissance? (is it safe?)

- How much would a cab cost one way? (trying to figure out an aprox. budget)

I will arrive wednesday 14th at around 1am, and will have thursday to hang out and know the city a bit, any advice?

It looks like you'll be close to the Rosemont Blue Line train stop. The blue line will take you to the Renaissance for about $2.50 each way.

Take the CTA Blue Line frm the Rosemont stop into Downtown if you want to go around Chicago. You can get off at the Washington stop and be in the heart of downtown. I believe it's $2 for a cash ride, but yo need to buy a farecard at one of the stations. They don't take cash at the turnstiles.

The hotel itself is off the cumberland stop. You could probably walk up to the rosemont station and hop on 1 stop to get to the hotel as well. That would probably be safe enough to do. The Renaissance is probably a mile away from where you are staying. The streets aren't extremely well lit or easy to walk on in that area. It's some big streets and might be a bit dangerous to be walking around.

A cab ride from the airport to downtown can average about $35. From hotel to hotel will probably be between $10-$20. I haven't done that lately, but I know within the City of Chicago I pay about $10 for a 1.5 mile ride from downtown to my house.
