Hats off to Bob Brill for a great presentation at the June meeting yesterday. His topic was intellectual property (IP), and you can read all about it at http://bobbrill.net.

Bob's presentation was a first introduction to fundamentals of IP (especially copyright and the license possibilities that extend from it) needed to deal with the various aspects of our business. There was substantial interest from the group on a number of angles - especially how to protect the content on a site, and how to understand the various ownership and use rights tot he underlying software in a given application.

Clearly a topic of importance to many people, and something we're going to want to dive deeper into again in the future.

I agree with you Joe. Thanks, Bob. Still getting my head around the copyright of code being a necessary element, as the license DEPENDS upon the copyright being in place...

I thoroughly enjoyed this session. This was a great topic that applied to content, software development, and Joomla web development. I think that Bob did a wonderful job and I would like to see another session on this topic that is a bit more focused now that we have heard the questions from the group that was asked.
