Weblogic Joomla Template Demo

I would like to offer to do a Joomla 'Learn It in 10 Minutes' tutorial at an upcoming meeting. I think there should be a small presentation for the folks who don't really understand what joomla is, but know they should. A quick run through of the front end (templates, positions) and a tour of the back end (users, content, design) would go a long way to getting the newbies in the group up to speed.

I thought the 1.5 migration tutorial was really valuable, but there is a spectrum of joomla skill level in the room, there needs to be a joomla 101 overview tutorial before/after upcoming meeting.

Keep in mind that our Learning Center will have all these types of recourses already. We will have roughly 200 training modules posted there shortly and go live with this new Learning Center very soon. Also after the Learning Center goes live, and if there is anything that you feel would be valuable for me to add, I can do that. Even if I have to create a custom flash tutorial for a topic, I can do that and post it in the learning center.

i think doing a little dog and pony show with a live joomla site, something conversational at a meeting would be valuable. I know from my own experience, fully comprehending the overall concept of joomla is hard to get your head around - especially for us marketing/communication types. A 10 minute tour of a live site - back end/front end - i think would be a good idea.

We could do a virtual tour of all features and function of this site. Even a quick tour of any site would take more than 10 minutes though.

I'm 100% in agreement with you - we NEED a 25-minute, "WHAT THE HECK IS JOOMLA" presentation, done live.

We need to do it at every meeting. Adjust it, improve it as we go, but every month, a "101" session must happen, to ensure we're hitting the beginner user audience, which is so vital to the long-term success of Joomla, and of JoomlaChicago.

Would you be willing to put that together for the next meeting? Build?
