I have an old Pentium 400 MHz system sitting around my house that I was going to recycle. It's missing a monitor at the moment. I was seriously considering throwing a version of Linux on the box and setting up Apache, MySql, and PHP so I could start playing around more with Joomla server installs, etc. I had Linux years back, but want to get back into it.
The question is this: Does anyone have or know of a place I could pick up a cheap 15" flat panel monitor for this PC? I'm looking at a used one because they'd probalby be cheap AND it doesn't have to show me much. I intend ot do most access remotely anyway, so it would only have to work well enough for me to install the system and when I needed to be on the console itself.
Any suggestions?
Also, does anyone have any suggestions of what package of Linux to install? I was thinking of FreeBSD since a hoster I use has that OS. But, I'm open to any of them for my home server since it's a test system anyway.

Kendall,
I would seriously try EBAY. There are quite a few legit businesses that sell refurbished and used monitors on there. A decent amount of them have a lot of good reviews too. Personally I would stay away from individuals selling a monitor but the legit businesses usually offer a warranty on the refurbished items they have in stock too.
Worth checking out at least.
