June, 2008 Monthly Group Meeting Topic:
Intellectual Property Law In an Open Source World
Come for the first in an intriguing series of intellectual law learning sessions, designed to get you up to speed on "the other IP" assets, such as copyrights, trademarks, patents, and licensing. In the June session, Attorney Bob Brill, from the intellectual property law firm of Wood | Phillips, will discuss many of these basic questions, helping you to understand a big-picture view of how to protect yourself, while staying within the letter of the law, with respect to those of us working in the open source world.
Whether you're in business, work for a non-profit, education, government or if you're a student, this, as well as future Open Source legal discussions are must-attend sessions to help you stay aware of current case law. Future sessions will cover these topics individually, if need be, depending upon group interest(s).
To ensure we're delivering information you're seeking, we encourage all Session Attendees to please register, and get on the JoomlaChicago Forum to interact with our Presenters to let them know specifically what questions you would like to address during this, and future sessions.
